This mode was one I initially didn’t pay attention to, but with NHL 19 growing stale on me this take on franchise mode now has me totally invested again. Is there dialog in franchise mode?
During franchise modes, there isn’t enough dialog that is specific to the mode during your games. I like the pre-game setup where they discuss win streaks or the last five games or so, but during contests, we should hear more about player’s individual stories. I also found it to be good training for other areas of the game. The smaller playing area helped teach me how to maneuver in tight scoring spots. It almost felt like a competitive skills drill, even though there are some arcadey elements.

Truthfully, games like Madden 19–especially in 4K–can spoil a gamer. NHL is a notch beneath Madden as it pertains to the overall beauty of a snapshot or slow-motion video, however, the animations best Madden and many other sports titles.
