EXPANSION DRAFT

My plan going in was to establish a team full of younger veteran players with a few older veterans in hopes of being competitive right away. Listed below is who I drafted from each team. Also listed is their age, position, player type, overall and their role.

Regular Season

Below are notes from how the season went. I broke the season up into four quarters. All games were simmed.

Final Thoughts

This mode was one I initially didn’t pay attention to, but with NHL 19 growing stale on me this take on franchise mode now has me totally invested again. For anyone looking for new challenges in NHL 19, expansion draft is where it’s at. Where will you place your organization? What will your first year results be?

Guide to Undrafted Rookies in Franchise Mode

This is what I use in my franchise to get up to 90 players easier, and to make the franchise a little more realistic. It is a way to add 'undrafted rookies' of sorts into a franchise. It was requested by Danchat, so I thought I'd post it so everyone can have it. The following goes well with my franchise guide.

Re: Guide to Undrafted Rookies in Franchise Mode

To be clear, when you say not to use this in the first year, only 2-30, are you saying to use it starting with the second off-season (heading towards season 3) or that it can be used starting in the first off-season (after the conclusion of the first season)?

10. Paste the copied players into the main franchise CSV. There should be 256 new players. They will serve as your 'undrafted rookies'. When finished, look for a number that appears in the right-most column in the top row. It should be a four digit number. It shows how many players are in the file. Delete this number.

(franchise length: 5 years, difficulty: superstar, trade difficulty: hard) First things first, picking the location. I wanted to settle in on my city first thinking it would be easier to create a team name after finding my franchise’s locale. I randomly landed on Anchorage, Alaska for my city and decided to move forward with that selection…
